Hi Susan !
I couldn’t agree with Mr. Jobs MORE. This is one of the reasons why I limit my time with writer’s groups and work shops and the like. I just feel that there comes a point when you have to trust your own judgement. More often than not, this might mean you will be published less, but at least you will know that when you are published, heard or produced, it’s your creation. Publishers would be the only ones with whom I would be willing to negotiate about my writing, and only up to a point. I would rather get exposure through community groups and productions, publications, etc. and reach a smaller audience than to become part of the assembly line churning out the flavour of the month, or whittling everyone down to fit “their” mold. Guess I’ve always been the little lone soldier marching to the beat of my own drum, anyway. Thanks for your wonderful posts. Hope all is well with you.
