the artist who dances on the edgeSeth Godin is the author of 17 books and has a blog that is followed by thousands. He’s been on my radar for a while now, and I subscribe to his blog posts. He talks a lot about business and art and how these two things can co-exist.

Here is a blog post of his called The artist who dances on the edge. My youngest daughter, Stacey, forwarded it to me. I didn’t know that she subscribed to him, too. She is out on her own in the world of business, and I’m glad she’s paying attention to what Seth has to say.

Also, considering how cowardly I feel sometimes, the fact that my daughter thinks this post is about me, touches me. But I will try to stand straighter and claim it.

See what you think:

You are brave.

Such a generous soul, someone who doesn’t hesitate to leap when others shrink in fear. Your work means so much to you and to the people you share it with, we can’t help but be inspired at the way you make your magic.

You’re a warrior in the service of joy and you never seem to stop standing up and speaking up and doing your very best work.

Sometimes, a particular audience doesn’t deserve you. But that doesn’t matter in the long run, because of your relentless generosity in sharing your gift.

I can’t wait to see your next work, and the one after that.

Do you like this, too? If so, consider forwarding this post to any artist or writer you know who you think is brave. They need to know that you see their courage even if they don’t. Also, look inside yourself and see your bravery, too. Then get to work. We are waiting on your next work and the one after that. xo
