Do you like to see interviews of authors? Last week I told you that if I had the courage, I was going to release an excerpt of a video interview taken last month. Well, I’m gathering that fearlessness now. Other than my books, this is the most personal, REAL, thing I’ve ever posted anywhere. (Even as I type this, there is a part of me that says: delete this post!)

However, I also think that anytime someone has the guts to say something genuine and heartfelt, it makes the world a little more tolerable, a little more real. So here goes! *deep breath*

Recently, my friend, Michael Trufant, who is a professional videographer, offered to interview me about my writing career and life. Despite my discomfort in the spotlight (literally), it was a great experience. Michael is a skilled interviewer, as well as videographer, having worked for several network news shows over the years, before starting his own media company.

Below is a 7 minute excerpt from that video called Carrying the Spark: Video Interview with Author Susan Gabriel (more to come). I think of it as “Susan, unplugged.” At the end, you’ll see why. This was the last seven minutes (unedited) of an interview that lasted an hour and a half. I was tired. My defenses were down. Then he asked me the perfect last question. I would love to hear from you, and welcome your thoughts and comments.
