Hug a Writer Today

by Susan Gabriel on February 15, 2012

I’ve decided to exercise my power as Master of the Universe (mwa-ha-ha-ha-ha) and proclaim today as official Hug A Writer Day.  Writers don’t always know they’re appreciated as they stuggle to get words on the page. Especially since writing is such a solitary endeavor (most of us are introverts) and we don’t always hear that we’re doing a good job or that our job is valued at all. Those who honestly toil at the craft of writing need to know that you value their writing efforts, whether you like their writing or not, whether you have even read something they have written.  An advanced, humane society needs its writers.

So if you haven’t already, Hug a Writer Today!

Email subscribers are weighing in. I’m feeling the love. Are you?

“Sending you an email hug for all you are and all you do to keep us civilized, inquisitive and expanding.
Heart HUG to you :) )) Jane”

“Please consider this an e-mail hug to one of my very favorite writers! Love you, Ann”

“Susan—Consider yourself hugged. Mary”

“So, here’s a hug back to you….and I think your writing is stupendous…just don’t ever stop!! when is the next book coming out….any date yet?”

Love the graphic and the topic. Big hugs to you. Good to see you on the SCBWI loop again. Hope we’ll meet at some conferences. It would be great to catch up. Looking forward to hearing what you’re working on now.

Lots of hugs coming my way. I hope other writers out there are getting some, too. Pass the post on, if it makes sense, and let people know they’re appreciated. I appreciate all the comments.

Consider yourself hugged!
